The Owensboro Fire Department
The Owensboro Fire Department maintains a 4-minute emergency response time, in accordance with the National Fire Protection and United States Insurance Service Offices recommendation.
Each crew works a 24-hour on/48-hour off shift. Each shift mans five engine companies, two ladder companies, and one rescue company. Engine companies include a captain, a driver, and 2 firefighters. Each ladder company includes a lieutenant, driver, and 1 firefighter when available. The rescue company is usually comprised of a driver and lieutenant or firefighter.
